Luxury One Night Break for Two at Titanic Spa
We enjoyed an evening relaxing and using the facilities in the spa. Outdoor hot tub is fun over WE had a lovely "Twilight" spa booked for my birthday treat. I have never been to a spa previously It would have been helpful if someone had answered so we could check out the directions. When we arrived we were told our treatments were due to take place in 25 minutes time - the time could not be changed, there were no available slots.
The receptionist informed us we would have been informed what time our treatments were due to take place on the confirmation email. I advised the receptionist I did not receive any confirmation email. The receptionist spoke as if she was reading everything off a written script - clearly more training is required here. It wouldn't have made any difference even if we had seen it because we still would have chosen the same main course but I'm pretty sure this supplement must be written in miniscule print in order to get just a little more money out of unsuspecting customers.
My bill was also incorrect as they had put one of the treatments down twice, plus I wasn't given a printed itemised bill until I requested it where, of course, I could see the discrepancy. I had been looking forward to swimming in the pool and I know it says it's a salt water pool but I hadn't realised how flippin' cold this meant it would be.
The whole pool area needs to be improved upon - it is extremely basic - no plants or anything pleasant to look at whilst swimming, nothing luxurious here just extremely basic. We were very impressed with the apartments though, they are lovely. I had asked for an apartment at the highest level there are 4 floors but unfortunately we only got a 2nd floor apartment although the view was still good but we'd still have liked a higher one. Will think long and hard before going again to Titanic Spa.
And it was worth every penny! Facilities are great with heat rooms and ice room and a large pool Fab for a snooze after the fantastic buffet lunch I loved the fact we had lunch in our robes and slippers and evening meal in our PJs: Agirls night in away from home: A 40 minute drive from Manchester and we arrived The Spa is in an old textile mill and is a beautiful building opposite a farm with horses frolicing in a filed, a river and a railway line - nice views!
We were welcomed at reception and as we wished to attend an 11am pool pilates class went straight off to the changing rooms. The spa is beutiful, quite bijou but with everything you need. Unfortunately the instructor never arrived to do the class so we just had a swim, a jacuzzi and a gossip! Lunch was at 12pm at the lovely little bistro which had really cute little booths. It was a hot buffet of ragu and tagliatelli and a green bean and mushroom type dish with rice and loads of salad including divine homemade coleslaw and a really nice couscous and chickpea dish.
There was also baked potatoes. It was all really tasty. We also had a rasberry bellini and a large wine respectively extra cost as we were on holiday after all! After lunch we were given a tour of the spa by the lovely very friendly Kelly and then went into the Heat and Ice experience room. This was a fabulous large mosaic tiled space with the various small rooms of it including saunariom, crystal steam room, aromotherapy steam room etc.
We got nice and hot then bravely immersed ourselves in the mini plunge pool then went into the ice room where you rub scented crushed ice all over your body. Sounds like torture but its actually great - you feel really invigorated and energised after the sleepy heat rooms! There is also 3 little reflexology foot baths that are ideal for relaxing and chatting! We had treated ourselves to a mud chamber which is a private room within the heat and ice area.
Kelly showed us how it worked then left us to it. You get 3 different types of mud to smear all over yourselves my friend was gutted as she thought it would be a bubbling river of mud! Unfortunately the showers did not come on so we had to go in the separate chamber to shower off in a normal shower. At 2pm we could check into our "serviced apartment" - our luggage had already been put in there.
It was absolutely gorgeous with a huge floor to ceiling french window out onto an enormous balcony. The bedroom was on a mezzanie floor and it had a full fitted kitchen with a dishwasher, washer dryer, microwave etc. We could have happlily stayed for a week! Dinner was at 7. We both had mushroom ravioli to start and the seabass with king prawns to follow. This was divine - cooked to absolute perfection. We were served by Tasha who was really lovely, helpful and friendly. We retired to our apartment and drank wine and played music on our dvd player - it had everything we needed!
Up at 9 am and cereal and croissants left in the apartment for breakfast then checkout and home to Manchester by 11am! All together fabulous - I went to Champney Springs a few weeks earlier and Titanic knocked spots of it! Definitely recommended! We stayed overnight on the reviver deal. Apartments are clean with all amenities. Very relaxing time was had by my husband and myself.
Meals and restaurant staff excellent-it would have been nice if a drink was included with lunch and maybe some fruit for a pudding. This is definitely the place to go for pampering and total relaxation, all the staff are really lovely and the food too is excellent, we have been a few times and have never been disappointed. The whole experience was fantastic - we struggled to think of anything to write in our feedback questionnaire about what could have been better.
On arrival the reception was packed with groups and I was immediately worried that that spa would be crowded. At no point did the spa areas feel crowded or noisy - you are given specific times for your lunch, treatments and dinner which was very slickly managed and meant no areas of the spa were overcrowded. The lunch was healthy and really nice - a selection of lovely salads, jacket potatoes and 2 hot options. The apartment was fantastic - really modern and with three of us there was twin beds and a large sofa bed.
We couldn't believe there was a fully fitted kitchen - even with a washing machine! The pool was a really decent size and enough room for everyone to swim. The changing rooms are clean and there are plenty of lockers. The massage and scalp massage I had were brilliant - really relaxing and a really good therapist.

Disappointing Overnight Spa Break - Titanic Spa
I booked a special package with Last Minute. Tried to book two different dates to be told that they were full for third party package deals. However had availability if prepared to pay them an upgrade direct. Staff very aloof when you mention you have pre booked vouchers. Decent sized portions too. My mum and I got a half price deal to stay one night at the Titanic Spa Apartments with lunch, dinner and breakfast included along with full access to the heat and ice experience. It was a perfectly nice break and the food was delicious however the heat and ice experience just needed a bit of a clean really! There was ALOT of cold, standing water, the place was really dark which made me wonder how dirty the floor really was and a couple of the spa rooms were quite stinky - but not in a 'spa' way, more in a mouldy water way The apartments were lovely but they forgot our milk and the breakfast was pretty poor compared to the amazing lunch and dinner.

We enjoyed an evening relaxing and using the facilities in the spa. Outdoor hot tub is fun over WE had a lovely "Twilight" spa booked for my birthday treat. I have never been to a spa previously This is not what we got! The buffett was ok we was more bothered about our bottle of wine we ordered! The waitress who braught us our wine i can only describe to be filthy and stank of smoke, her arms were covered in orange smears fake tan, all the girls here wear it along with hair extensions that look grubby , nails over grown with chipped nail varnish. It looked like she had been out the night before and just scrambled out of bed and rolled into work. Just returned from an overnight spa break. What amazing value for money.
Shaped like the famous ship and just as glamorous, this is a real Turkish retreat!
So take the chance and spend an awesome city break. This will give you the opportunity to make the absolute most out of it! The connections between the Titanic and Liverpool is quite strong: As a ship registered through the White Star Line, the sinking of the Titanic was announced from the balcony of Albion House in in the centre of Liverpool. Moreover, many members of the crew were Liverpudlians themselves. As I said before, the typical red-brick buildings host your hotel. The super stylish boutique hotel spoils you with riverside views and modern chic. Soft lighting, a steam room, and sauna, as well as a pool, will make you forget your worries. Good morning Danielle, thanks for your comment. I had a look at the prices and there are many dates in April available. Hope this helps and have a lovely day, your HolidayGuru:
